The Teelings are at it again. They have found a batch of Irish single malt, which has matured in ex-Bourbon casks for most of its life, before being transferred into active ex-Souternes wine barrels for some time, adding up to 24 years. Only 5.000 bottles have been filled and released.

Nose: the welcoming scent of fresh vanilla pods, hands full of marsh-mallows and the fruity smell of ripe pineapples and just a touch of fresh, sour grapes.
Palate: a sweet and creamy palate, with more of the fresh grapes and baskets filled with pineapples, mangos and various citrus fruits
Finish: All of a sudden: apple skin. More exotic fruit notes and a long lasting, mouth coating layer of creamy honey
Conclusion: That’s really nice, long and balanced indeed. Not sure if I would go look for it immediately because of the price, but it is certainly one to savour and enjoy for ‘that special moment’…
