Door number 7 of the Drinks by the Dram Bourbon Advent Calendar 2017 holds the Smooth Ambler Old Scout bourbon, made with a mashbill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, bottled in their distillery in Maxwelton, West Virginia. Bottled. Because besides distilling their own range of spirits under their own name, the Old Scout label is their American variation of what we know so well of the Scots: an independent bottler. The source of this bottling remains unknown.
