Another Abbey whisky whisky to take notes of. This 23yo Bunnahabhain has been distilled in 1989, has matured in an ex-Bourbon cask and was bottled into 96 bottles in 2013. It appears to be for sale still…
44% abv, €99, single malt, non-chill filtered, natural colour
Nose: sweet, vanilla, honey, marshmallows, floral, roses,
Palate: sweet, honey, strong green tea, slight bitter, citrus, orange peel, zest
Finish: sweet, honey, long, green tea
Conclusion: A Bunnahabhain without any doubt indeed. The 23 relaxed years in wood was good to the spirit and made it to be very drinkable indeed. Quite the price for a 23yo Bunnahabhain, but the balance it good and you shall not be disappointed by a purchase.
thanks to Abbey whisky for supplying us with a sample of this beauty
