Nose: fresh, sweet, vanilla, honey, apples, stone-fruit, prunes, apricots, citrus, sweet overripe pineapple, wood, nuts, hazelnuts, walnuts
Palate: sweet, honey, stone-fruit, prunes, spicy, cinnamon, nuts, floral
Finish: gentle, short, floral, liquorice
Conclusion: very nice. The price is a bit steep for a blended whisky, but then – she has traveled here all the way from Japan. Although very nice, I am not sure about value for money.
More info: A blend that includes malts from Yamazaki & Hakashu, along with grains from Chita.
re-tasted and re-scored with the #FestiveDrams twitter tasting. Half marks up, still hesitant about the value for money bit.
