Four years ago, after we had visited the distillery in Speyside, brought home a set of samples and made a note on the 15yo. About time to re-review the dram, and from the Christmas crackers we received from the Drinks by the Dram team last Christmas, I got the opportunity.
Nose: a nice and spicy nose with herb notes of lemon thyme. Sweetness from toffee and raisins, fresh lime-juice, hints of mint and something between pencil shavings and sawdust
Palate: a mouth full of creamy vanilla pods and butter, with more of the lemon thyme from the nose and hints of Menthos, liquorice and anise
Finish: long, with sweet raisins and fresh lemon juice. Herbal lemon thyme again and a hint of Menthos, stay for quite a while
Conclusion: Another fine Glenfarclas. For the price, I really wonder some times why I haven’t got more Glenfarclasses in the cabinet. Time to go shopping..!
